I figured mine was just repetition, rather than alternate lines. So it'd be something like --

If I reached out, I knew it would extend itself toward me,
and I would feel the brush of our savior
...stretched toward Heaven!
If I reached out, I knew it would beat forevermore,
and our savior's life could never be extinguished.
