It's nice. Very cozy. I have an eye for abandoned houses. It doesn't take much to turn them around.

Mm. We're working on sprucing up the cabin bit by bit.

Admittedly it's a lot of dust, but Mr. Iwatooshi has graciously sacrificed his robe for rags, and I'd say we've done a decent job of wiping the place down so far.

I'd like better, but it's livable.

If you ever need a helping hand, I have an eye for decor in places like that. I've lived in so many abandoned cottages in the woods. You'd be surprised what a few little touches can do to brighten the place up.

...Sure, why not. Let's put that interior knowledge of yours to good use.

I mostly know what looks good to guests...

It's easy enough. You can do a lot with a little ribbon and twine and some plants to brighten the place up.

I do agree on the appeal of a good flowervase.

Ms. Gainsborough has experience as a florist, I think. If those horsemen would allow access to their garden, maybe some flowers could be arranged.

[ Sounds like a bit of a long-term project, but it might be a nice thing to have on the side as a just-in-case they're really here that long. ]

We have flower crowns, as well. We could take them apart...

I gave mine to her, actually... but I guess that just adds onto my earlier idea?

Despite the unfortunate circumstances we received them in, the crowns are actually pretty elabourate. [ Pretty. ] A garland on a string to drape over the bookshelf would be easy enough in theory.

Yes! Or a little bundle, tied up with some twine, just for a pretty touch on the wall.

Although, seems like we have a troublemaker around our little camp circle, so you may want to put it somewhere that isn't too easy to reach.

Oh, the leeches? I don't mind them. But I would hate it if someone undid the decor...

They're not major injuries, but who knows what parasites or diseases they could be carrying. It's kind of a bother for someone to be spitefully putting leeches in everything.

And would be a shame to ruin the decor with them.

Everyone is so angry about the leeches...All of you are in trouble if they really start to torture us.

I'm tired and concerned.

The idea that things much worse could be coming up is why I wish we weren't wasting energy on things like this...

That's fair. Child is more a state of mind than a matter of age. Everyone can prove themselves worthy or being treated as one or not.

[however the leeches are funny sorry.]

I've met better and worse. Even in this place alone.

With how some people are, though, the culprits might get hurt sooner or later.

True. You're being rather sweet, aren't you. You intend to protect them from learning that lesson. Personally, I wouldn't bother.

Not really. You know what they say... preventative care is better than being sick, or going under the knife. Just want to put out the embers before it turns into a fire, that's all.

But sometimes it's better to get the knife over with. But, ah, well. Personally, he hasn't done anything to offend me yet.

Not if our would-be patient is fourteen, unfortunately. I'd rather not do anything rash, but I can't speak for the others.

Hopefully, it doesn't come to that point.

I certainly would be wary of anyone who truly wished him harm over a little mischief, even if the form of mischief was a bit objectionable to some.

Still. We'll see if protecting him leads to him learning his lesson or not.

As long as he doesn't actually do anything outright harmful, like actually following through with that arson threat.

But he probably won't have any reason to mess with the house's decor? If nobody staying here gets into an argument with him...

I'll ask him not to. I would really rather he not burn my house down. I have some bad associations with that and would be quite cross.
