I have a fey creature, a faun, for a friend, and other friends made of rocks or metal. So when you told me you were a shadow, I assumed you meant something like that. Not that it's something you became.

This place you journeyed to, what is it? [it does remind her a little of the unseelie court in some way - unknowable people of great power, hard to comprehend.]
Once, it was the Mirrors House, where my family lived. But they were attacked and driven from there by fairies that looked like shadows... I was still in my mother's womb when it happened.
I went there to look for answers, but by then it had become something else. The Shadows House, where shadows rule as nobles.
[she isn't so good at pushing away her feelings; she's more avoidant than skilled at disguising or suppressing how she feels. but the way the memory ends just leaves her feeling hollow. the intensity of the anger she felt towards the wrong people, ghosts of murdered servants, and then the numbness of encountering delilah.
