I think you can lose a lot that way. For me, that exchange has been more literal than for most. The source from which I draw at least some of my power does make demands sometimes, and deciding what to do can be a complex matter.
That's why I don't, outside of extrenuous circumstances. [ He knows what his profile says, and he's denied it initially, but it's been a while by now. ] The trade you make with demanding powers... you get more, but you lose a lot more too.
