It was an acting challenge. So we tried to kill each other as part of the play, but it became sort of real... You were in the play, too. I poisoned you with pretend poison, but then you really died. I thought it was just really good acting, but Astarion got really mad at me over it.
[ oh, bad? gale looks a little nervous, not because of laudna's poisoning of his fake dream self, that's kinda whatever, it's fine. but yikes to being made to want to kill each other. ]
Well, I can't speak for how he feels about it, really. I only wanted to kill him because that's what my character wanted, in the play.
[she feels very resentful and envious of astarion but she doesn't want to kill him, she just wants to win.]
Anyway, that part wasn't important. Caelus won that part, which was a bit unfair as I tried really hard. But the final competition, we were separated, and that's how I won. She promised I would win, and I did everything I was supposed to. [so astarion walking around with that crown is such a slap in the face.]
[she will laugh just slightly at this, even though she still feels very overwhelmed and very guilty. she keeps promising that it's over and then it isn't.]

Oh, that's hardly an issue. I had to kill a version of myself in one of Shar's Trials and everyone acts as if that is such a terrible thing to have to do, but really it's not. It's not actually me. It's like killing a Simulacrum. Eventually they run out of spell slots anyway.
