I don't know for certain, but I think so. The first set were moving differently; the person who was creeping up on them was very cautious and deliberate. The second set were in a violent fury.

Hm... yeah, that does sound different. Unless maybe the monster didn't fully wake up until they were on the defensive or something?
It's going to be hard to figure anything out until we can look at the evidence, but I think that's really useful information to have and keep in mind.
