[laudna can be found a little later at the haunted house, a ballgown-looking dress spread out on one of the beds as she starts to examine it for rips and wrinkles. also, there's a leech still stuck on her neck and arm and she doesn't seem to have noticed.]
[after the npc reveal, laudna can be found sitting out near the pyre on her own, with pâté, a dead rat with a bird skull sewn onto his head and bony bird wings, fluttering nearby. she has her long hair hanging down over her face and she's clearly talking to herself outloud.]
...Still nothing from you? How long are you going to give me the silent treatment? You're useless!
[she has what looks like the same tree branch pattern that's on the lace of her skirt and bodice all over her arms, but there are a few words that can be made out here and there. She holds more power than you led us to believe briefly appears written on one of the branches.]
[well. laudna can be found after trial in the void somewhere. actually in less of a weird and manic mood than she was the night before. she seems more like she's not sure how to react.]
[ ashlyn is standing... not right in front of the bulletin board, but nearby, like she looked at it and then backed up to where she is now and hasn't moved since.
she is just anxiously tapping one foot very very fast. ]
[ a decent while after execution so that everyone (herself) can cool down, ashlyn is sitting around staring at the rulebook. she'll glance up when she hears laudna's footsteps nearby and give a little nod. then lift the book up a little. ]
[okay i'm sorry to give you such a long one that's mostly just dialogue but they've talked around these events so much that i wanted to show what actually happened here]
[ there is such a wide spread of emotions, watching this play out. firstly—it's from laudna's perspective, so of course ashlyn sides with her immediately. she can see the logic. it's a sword that hurt her. why would anyone be so insistent on carrying that when it clearly makes their friend uncomfortable? even ashlyn, terrible at being considerate and sensitive, thinks it would be a careless thing to just waltz around carrying a weapon with that kind of history.
obviously laudna should have talked to them first. not tried to steal it away in the night. (but would that have worked? orym's only justification is just wanting some kind of symbolic revenge with this weapon, but won't any weapon kill someone just the same?)
but then... the more they talk about dililah's influence, the more uncertain she becomes herself. watching laudna become more and more uncertain, too. she still doesn't think any of the others are doing this right and it's so frustrating to her watching people do things wrong when a detached, logical solution is clear to her.
but that's really not how people work.
from what they've talked about, from what little she knows, she doesn't trust delilah at all. and doesn't exactly trust laudna to resist being manipulated by her.
the first thing she wants to say though is still: ]
I don't think he should have kept the sword either way. Whether it was really cursed or not.
[ yes, definitely try to problem solve instead of providing emotional support. perfect. that's what people like, right. ]
[ honestly... just sitting around near the swamp. her leg no longer has a hole in it! and her stomach isn't bleeding! the scratch marks are still across her face and the black chain-shaped burns around her haven't gone away.
[where is ash. laudna is in the void, somewhere around the village - she's not going back to the tree realm after thursday. but she seems relatively calm, despite everything.]
[laudna is standing at the bottom of the radio tower. her thought share is manifesting right now as just a few flowers dancing around her head; she seems to be in a good mood. but she's also looking up at the top of the tower.
[ ashlyn is sitting outside, behind the theater. like one does. she's curled up, hugging her knees to her chest. but she hears laudna's footsteps, so she looks up at her and gives a little nod. ]
[ everything happens so much. ashlyn is back behind the theater again. this is her quiet spot. and she'll once again give laudna a nod when she sees her, and preemptively scoot over as a kind of invitation. ]
[haha. maybe next week will be chill and good, though. you never know. she'll go sit with her. her thoughts are just sort of quiet right now. she'll put a hand on her, gentle.]
[she has been swamped but i don't know the effect yet. anyway, she's just recovering somewhere. her emotional state is messy, a mix of sadness and fear and resentment, but she cheers up a little to see ashlyn.]
[she's at the haunted house, sitting on the steps. but she will look up from the little doll she's putting finishing touches on to see ash. there's a bit of surprise and concern that pierces through the cold, stubborn grief she's feeling tonight.]
[laudna is sort of wandering around, looking a bit out of it. less inappropriately cheerful and more just sort of blank. she stares at ashlyn for a long moment and then she'll pull out pâté, making him wave a little paw at her.]
[let's meet at barks and waffles. go get some waffles served to us by dog puppets. laudna's mood has improved a bit since the day before, but she's still concerned about ash.]
[ backflipping from one kind of stress to a completely different kind of stress. also she likes the dog puppets. laudna knows this because of emotionshare i guess. ]
week 0; saturday
Tch, tch, tch. A little grimy, isn't it?
no subject
[ what up. ashlyn has already changed into her clothes, which are apparently. just a white t-shirt and white shorts. and combat boots.
also she's internally debating whether or not to point out the leeches. really circling around in her head about it like a weirdo. ]
